Literary Club: A brief introduction
The Literary Club is a platform where students meet to read and write in order to explore their creative potentialities. It is based upon using the creativity skills to develop our personality and to mould our mind as well. Club members meet to discuss books and the craft of writing. Some members choose to share their writings during the meetings, therefore, it opens the floor for many discussions. At times, we critique each other's work and offer suggestions.
The Literary Club is more than just a club for reading and writing; it is also a place where students can come to share their insights on politics, life, and school’s issues. It is like a family, sharing frustrations, trials, and happy moments.
Therefore, we want to welcome anyone and everyone with a passion for reading, writing and creativity.
Literary Club, GBS:
Literary club, GBS is committed to tap the effective communication talent among the students. It is poised to enable the talents with cutting edge.
Club’s aim:
The club aims to foster a love for language, enhance literary creativity and provide an avenue for self-expression beyond the school curriculum.
Club’s objective:
To develop and hone the literary skills of the students, to inspire the students to develop a taste for literature and also to work in the direction of educating their spoken and written language. It is intricate in a variety of activities aimed at building up the confidence and grooming the talents of students in facing various interpersonal activities and competitions.
Club’s activity:
The club conducts competitions in essay writing, creative writing, poetry writing, debate, elocution, reading and other related areas to enhance the speech and oratorical skills. It has also initiated a literary magazine, named SMART: Literary Magazine to fulfil its objectives. The present site is also designed for the same purpose.
Target Group:
All the students from grade 4 to 12 of Gandaki Boarding School, Pokhara, Nepal are the members of this club.
